Your details, kept simple.

We collect as little as we can, use it only to keep you posted about Fixby, and never sell it.

Who we are

Fixby is run by Fixby Pty Ltd (ABN 50 640 895 129), based in Carlton, Victoria. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Fixby Pty Ltd.

We follow the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy covers the Fixby website at fixby.com.au and our early-access and tradie interest lists.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us, and only what we need:

  • Early access: your email address.
  • Tradie interest: your name, email address, trade and state.
  • Emails to us: whatever you choose to include when you write to hello@fixby.com.au.

Like most websites, our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) to keep the site secure and working. We don’t use these to identify you.

Cookies and tracking

The Fixby website doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn’t load third-party trackers. Our fonts and images are served from our own site.

The emails we send through our email service may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can tell if our updates are useful. You can block this by turning off images in your email app.

How we use your information

  • To send you early-access updates and news about Fixby’s launch, including when Fixby opens near you.
  • To contact tradies who register interest about joining Fixby in their area.
  • To reply to your questions.
  • To keep the website secure.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website and our email lists:

  • MailerLite, our email service, stores our email lists and sends our emails. MailerLite is based in the European Union, so your details may be stored and processed outside Australia.
  • Our web host, which runs the website and keeps the server logs described above.

These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing us.
  • Access or correct the information we hold about you by emailing hello@fixby.com.au.
  • Ask us to delete it, and we will, unless we need to keep it by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your details while you’re on our lists. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don’t email you again. We delete the rest when it’s no longer needed.

We protect your information with access controls and encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we limit access to the people who need it.

The Fixby app

This policy is for the website. The Fixby app will collect more, such as photos, video, voice and your location during a job, so it will have its own Privacy Policy explaining exactly what’s collected, why, where it’s stored and for how long. You’ll be able to read it before you sign up.

Children

Fixby isn’t designed for children. Please don’t join our lists if you’re under 18.

Email us at hello@fixby.com.au. We’ll look into it and get back to you. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

We’ll update this page when things change, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
